Take Tec 45 further with the Trimix add-on. Available alongside your standard Tec 45 training, this option lets you dive using a helium-enriched gas blend instead of relying on EANx or pure oxygen alone — reducing narcosis as your dives get deeper and your workload increases.

Allowable Gas Mix

The Tec 45 Trimix add-on uses a light, normoxic trimix blend — a minimum of 21% oxygen with up to 20% helium. This keeps the gas safely breathable at the surface while meaningfully cutting narcosis within your Tec 45 depth limit of 45 metres/150 feet. Exact mix requirements are confirmed with your instructor at the time of training, in line with current PADI standards.

Course Structure

Delivered as an add-on alongside your Tec 45 training: some self-study, a focused knowledge development session, a practical application session, and two open water dives using trimix — all within your existing Tec 45 depth limit.

Why add Trimix now?

If you already added Trimix at Tec 40, this is the natural continuation. If not, Tec 45 is still a great place to start — narcosis becomes more noticeable as depth and workload increase, and light trimix keeps your thinking clear when it matters most.
