Finish Tec 50 the natural way — with the Trimix add-on. Available alongside your standard Tec 50 training, this option lets you dive using a helium-enriched gas blend at your deepest and longest dives yet, on the final rung of open-circuit Tec Deep training.

Allowable Gas Mix

The Tec 50 Trimix add-on uses a light, normoxic trimix blend — a minimum of 21% oxygen with up to 20% helium. This keeps the gas safely breathable at the surface while meaningfully cutting narcosis within your Tec 50 depth limit of 50 metres/165 feet. Exact mix requirements are confirmed with your instructor at the time of training, in line with current PADI standards.

Course Structure

Delivered as an add-on alongside your Tec 50 training: some self-study, a focused knowledge development session, a practical application session, and two open water dives using trimix — all within your existing Tec 50 depth limit.

Tec 50 is the deepest and most demanding step in the open-circuit Tec Deep program. Adding trimix here keeps narcosis in check exactly when workload and gas planning are at their most complex, and sets you up well if Tec Trimix 65 is next on your list.
